About Fox Valley Heart Foundation
The Fox Valley Heart Foundation (FVHF) was organized in 2004 with the mission of promoting cardiovascular health while reducing gender and economic disparity.
The Foundation focuses on increasing awareness and education through community outreach programs and public workshops related to cardiovascular risk reduction topics. Additionally, the Foundation continues its ongoing initiatives which include: providing screening and risk assessments for patients in the Fox Valley area, hosting the Annual Women and Heart Disease Symposium, supporting the efforts of Heart Sisters, and awarding scholarships to local nursing students each year to help them achieve their educational goals.
Interventional cardiologist and FVHF founder, Santosh Gill, M.D. continues to be the driving force behind the mission and work of the Foundation. Her endless energy and tireless efforts have been inspiring and resulted in numerous ongoing collaborations throughout the community. Recently, her dream of creating a clinic for the community's underserved was realized with the opening of the Aurora Community Heart Clinic in Aurora.
Having started her cardiology practice in Aurora in 1986, Dr. Gill has been able to witness, first hand, the heart health needs and issues within the community. As she states, "it can start with one, but it takes all our energy" to really impact the well being of our colleagues, neighbors, friends and family members.
To that end, the FVHF goes forward as a catalyst for collaboration to aid in heart disease education, risk management and overall care.
We appreciate your support and look forward to working with you to make a difference in the heart health of our community.
